Aason Engineering Co Inc is seeking an experienced and leadership-minded Survey Crew Chief to oversee our field surveying operations. In this role, you will coordinate, schedule, and direct the survey crew technicians in performing boundary, topographic and construction surveys and construction staking for a wide variety of public and private projects.
Key Responsibilities

Perform Field Operations: Perform boundary, topographic, as-built, subdivision, and profile surveys

Research: Collecting, researching, and analyzing deeds, property records, utility information, and survey data.

Operations & Scheduling: Manage the daily schedules, logistics, and resource allocation for the survey crew technicians to meet strict project deadlines.

Quality Control: Review raw field data, survey notes, sketches, and digital files download from the field to ensure total accuracy and completeness before handing them off to engineers and CAD technicians.

Team Leadership & Training: Supervise, mentor, and train survey crew technicians on proper field techniques, equipment operation, and company standards.

Equipment Management: Oversee the calibration, operation, maintenance, and tracking of various types of field equipment
Required Qualifications

Associate degree in Surveying, Geospatial Technology, or a related field - combination of experience and education will be considered

1-2 years' experience land surveying - can be combined with educational experience.

Knowledge of easements, rights-of-way, plats, boundary surveys, property descriptions, and GPS surveys.

Must be proficient with GPS Survey Equipment, AutoCAD/Civil 3D

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Must work well managing a team and mentoring new technicians.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
This position could be filled by individuals that have or are seeking to obtain an LSIT or a Professional Land Surveyor certification.
